C. de G., B.Ec. : Captain, 3rd Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli, England and France. Enlisting 17th August, 1914, and sailing 20th October as corporal, was promoted lance-sergeant in Egypt, 5th April, 1915, and proceeded to Anzac, where wounded at the Landing. On recovery rejoined battn. as sergeant, was promoted second-lieutenant On the Field 4th August and wounded again at Lone Pine on 11th, again rejoining battn. on recovery. Crossing to France in March, 1916, was wounded severely at Pozieres 23rd July and evacuated to hospital and, on recovery, seconded to 14th Training Battn., Hurdcott, as second in command, returning to battn. in June and to Australia in December, 1917. Promoted lieutenant, 14th November, 1915; captain, 12th March, 1916. Awarded Croix de Guerre 5th December, 1916. Author of Randwick to Hargicourt
