Book of Remembrance entry

M.A. : Sergeant, 55th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 10th September, 1915, and sailing 8th March, 1916, with 13th Reinforcements 3rd Battn., joined 55th in Egypt, 20th April, and crossed to France in June, being wounded at Fleurbaix 14th July. On recovery rejoined battn. and served at Hindenburg Line, Polygon Wood, Villers-Bretonneux and elsewhere until demobilisation. Promoted corporal, 31st May, and sergeant, 7th October, 1917. Early education at Sydney High School.
