Med. I ll : Lieutenant, 20th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting in March, 1915, and sailing 26th June, being promoted to corporal in camp and sergeant on transport, fought at Gallipoli from 22nd August, till the Evacuation. Crossing to France in March, 1916, served in Fleurbaix and Pozieres sectors till death. Commissioned second-lieutenant, 29th July, 1916. Killed in Action, Pozieres, early on morning of 2nd August, 1916, and buried in Gordon Dump Cemetery, Sausage Valley, near Albert. Renwick Scholar. Early education at Church of England Grammar School, Launceston.
