Book of Remembrance entry
Arts : Private, 55th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 3rd March, 1916, and sailing in January, 1917, after attending N.C.O. and Duntroon Officers Schools, joined battn. in March near the Hindenburg Line and fought at Bullecourt, Polygon Wood and elsewhere until wounded on the Somme 8th April, 1918. On recovery rejoined battn. and served till demobilisation. Early education at Sydney High School. Later at Teachers' College.
