Book of Remembrance entry

Eng. and Arch. : Lieutenant, 20th Battn. and A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 21st August, 1915, and sailing 9th April, 1916, with 5th Australian Field Ambulance reinforcements, joined unit in France 10th August and served at the Somme and elsewhere. Transferring to 20th Battn. 8th July, 1917, fought at Ypres, attended Officers Training Corps, Cambridge, in December and was commissioned. Rejoining unit in June, 1918, served till demobilisation, although wounded 8th August, remaining on duty, and again at Mont St. Quentin 1st September, when evacuated to hospital. Early education at Sydney Preparatory School and King's College, Goulburn.
