V.D., M.B. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli, Egypt and France. Enlisting and sailing in May, 1915, with No. 3 Australian General Hospital to England and thence to Lemnos, served there until 26th September, when detailed for duty on Grampian to England. Transferred to No. 2 A.G.H., Ghezireh, 1st January, 1916, and crossing with it to France, was attached to No. 1 Australian Casualty Clearing Station from 24th August to 10th September, returning to Australia in February, 1917. Promoted major, 1st January, 1916. A.M.F. : Colonel, A.A.M.C., O.C. 5th A.F.Amb. 1921-26, A.D.M.S., 2nd Div., 1929-32. Attended Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, 1897, as Light Horseman. Early education at The King's School.
