M.M., Econ. : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, France and England. Enlisting 18th July, 1915, and sailing 15th January, 1916, served in Egypt in February and March, and in France from 23rd March, 1916, to 12th October, 1918, with 5th Australian Field Ambulance, and till May, 1919, at Australian Base Post Office, London, then returning for demobilisation. Awarded M.M. 4th October, 1917. Early education at Camden Superior Public and Sydney High Schools. Later at Teachers' College.
