B.A., Sci. I l l : Lieutenant, 4th Battn., A.I.F., Egypt, England and France. Enlisting in 1915 and sailing 3rd February, 1916, after being commissioned in November, was appointed to 8th Training Battn. 26th March, proceeding with battn. to England in June. Crossed to Boulogne 30th August, joined above unit 15th October after a month at Machine Gun School, and served with it till death. Promoted lieutenant, 13th December, 1916. Killed in Action, Bullecourt, 7th May,- 1917. Commemorated in Villers-Bretonneux Memorial. Early education at Adelong Public School. Later at Teachers' College. . . .He died as he lived, a true gentleman and gallant soldier.
