M.B., Arts : Captain, 3rd Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli. Reported for War Service in August, 1914, started duty in November and was appointed lieutenant 4th Battn. reinforcements 1st March, 1915. Transferring to 3rd Battn. reinforcements and sailing as captain in April, joined battn. at Anzac 1st July. Invalided to hospital in August and thence to Australia, arriving in April, 1916. A.M.F. : St. George's English Rifles Volunteer Battn., Second- Lieutenant, 1905; Lieutenant, January, 1907. Transferred to Reserve, 1909.
