M.M., Med. I I : Lance-Corporal, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting 28th January, 1916, and sailing 19th December with A.A.M.C. reinforcements, joined 12th Australian Field Ambulance 10th May, 1917, and served as stretcher-bearer at Messines and all 4th Division engagements. Was at Base Medical Stores, A.I.F. H.Q., London, from February to May, 1919, returning for demobilisation. Promoted lance-corporal, 7th November, 1918. Awarded M.M. after Le Verguier and Ascension Farm 18th February, 1918. Early education at Sydney High School.
