28.7.15; sailed 18.11.15, Pte. 21st Btn.; to 60th Btn. 22.2.16; to 15th M.G. Coy. 29.4.16; from Egypt to France at end of June 1916.
Was returning from a successful raid, and tending a wounded comrade whom he had carried in, when he was struck and killed by a shell, on 19th August 1916. He was to have been recommended for a commission that week. He was buried at Rue-de-Bois, near Sailly.
