B.E., A.M.I.E.Aust. : Engineer-Lieutenant, R.A.N. Enlisting 7th February, 1915, and sailing on 19th, joined H.M.A.S. Sydney as engineer-sub-lieutenant in May and served in West Indies and Atlantic until June, 1916. Promoted lieutenant to H.M.A.S. Warrego in September and was on Mediterranean and Australian Stations until June, 1919. Peter Nicol Russell Scholar. Early education at Fort St. High School.
