C.M.G., D.S.O., C. de G. (Belg.), F.I.I.S., p.s.c., Diploma in Military Science : Lieutenant-Colonel, 1st and 2nd Divisions and Australian Corps, A.I.F., Egypt, Gallipoli, France and England. Joining Permanent Forces in 1905, enlisted with 6th A.L.H. Regt. as captain 20th November, 1914, and, sailing 19th December as adjutant, remained in Egypt till May, 1915. Then crossing to Gallipoli, was promoted major 25th September, and appointed D.A.A. and Q.M.G. 1st Australian Division 1st October, being severely wounded 3rd December. On recovery served in Egypt until 29th March and then in France until the Armistice. Appointed A.A. and Q.M.G. 2nd Australian Division 13th October, 1916, A.Q.M.G. Australian Corps 6th December, 1917, and Director of Movement and Quartering, Repatriation and Demobilisation Department, London, 16th November, 1918, returning 30th April, 1920, after passing Staff College, Camberley. Made a C.M.G. in 1918, awarded D.S.O. 1st January, 1917, and Belgian Croix de Guerre and Mentioned in Despatches five times. A.M.F. : Chief Inspector, Administration, Inspector-General's Branch. Secretary, Royal Agricultural Society of N.S.W. Early education at Brisbane Normal and Grammar Schools.
