B.A. : Bombardier, 22nd Battery, A.F.A., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 19th September, 1916, and sailing with 9th Reinforcements 22nd Howitzer Brigade 19th December, joined battery on the Somme 21st July, 1917, and served till death. Killed in Action, Polygon Wood, 26th September, 1917, and buried hard by. Early education at Maclean Public and Sydney High Schools. His happy nature and coolness under fire endeared him to all . . . we have lost a splendid mate. Your son died a hero
