9.7.15; sailed 26.11.15, A Cpl. 24th Btn. rfts.; to 8th Btn. in Egypt 24.2.16; first in exam. for Cpl., but refused promotion in order to remain with his comrades; sailed for France 27.3.16, and went into the trenches on 1.5.16.
Wounded in the advance on Pozieres on 24th July 1916 and died the same day at 44th C.C.S.
