Eng. I : Sergeant, 3rd Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 22nd December, 1915, and sailing 7th October, 1916, with 23rd Reinforcements after passing Officers Training School, Duntroon, served until severely wounded at Bullecourt 3rd May, 1917, and evacuated to hospitals at Rouen, Reading and Dartford, thence to Randwick and George's Heights, whence discharged 12th March, 1918.Early education at Sydney Church of England Grammar School.
