M.B., Ch.M. : Lieutenant, 33rd Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 28th August, 1915, was commissioned 16th March, 1916, and, sailing 24th August, served with battn. in France till gassed at Armentieres 26th December, 1917, returning to Australia in April, 1918. Promoted lieutenant, 27th November, 1917. A.M.F. : Major, A.A.M.C., O.C. 1st Field Hygiene Section, 3:934-36, D.A.D.M.S. 1st Division, 1936. Early education at Fort St. High School.
