Enlisted January 1916, Pte.; sailed with 37th Btn. in June; gained his commission in England; to France November 1916; promoted Lieut., and recommended for captaincy. Served as sniping officer, I.O., and Btn. French interpreter.
Killed in action on 7th June 1917, by a gas shell, when going into Messines battle. Buried in Charing Cross Cemetery, Ploegsteert Wood.
