F.R.A.I.A., F.R.I.B.A.; Lecturer, Faculty of Architecture : Captain, R.E., B.E.F., France. Enlisting in London 28th August, 1914, in King Edward's Horse, was transferred to Royal Fusiliers, promoted sergeant and then commissioned. Joining R.E. in 1917, fought at Ypres and Somme I and II, Vimy Ridge, where wounded at Noeux-les-Mines 13th April, German Advance and Retreat and till demobilisation, then coming to Australia. Acted as Intelligence Officer, 17th Infantry Brigade for six months in 1917. Mentioned in Despatches.
