Book of Remembrance entry
B.A. : Private, 1st Battn., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting 4th July, 1915, and sailing 7th January, 1916, transferred from Heliopolis Aerodrome Camp to 1st Battn. in March, 1916, serving as signaller on Suez Canal Defences and in France. Wounded at Passchendaele 9th October, 1917, at Strazeele 9th June, 1918, and for a third time near St. Quentin 21st September. Invalided to Australia in April, 1919, and discharged from hospital 6th April, 1920. Early education at Kogarah Intermediate High School.
