Book of Remembrance entry
A.R.C.S., A.I.C., Research Student: Gunner, 51st Battery, A.F.A., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in April, 1916, and sailing 30th September with 6th Reinforcements 5th Divisional Ammunition Column, arrived in France in December. Joining 5th Battery 29th July, 1917, served until invalided to hospital 29th September and to England 3rd January, 1918. Returning to duty on 28th, transferred to H.Q., London, 1st May, and to A.I.F. Kit Stores 5th August, being demobilised in United Kingdom in January, 1919. Returned in November, 1921, after completing A.R.C.S. course as Overseas Scholar, continuing research work and obtaining A.I.C. diploma. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
