B.V.Sc. : Major, A.A.V.C., A.I.F., Egypt, Gallipoli and France. Enlisting in August, 1914, and sailing in September, served as Veterinary Officer, 1st Infantry Brigade at Mena, Gallipoli, Mex, Alexandria and Ferry Post. Transferring to 14th Field Artillery Brigade at the end of 1915, was V.O. at the Somme, Ypres and elsewhere, returning to Australia in December, 1917. Promoted major, 9th December, 1916. Superintendent, Sydney Zoological Gardens. Early education at Wellington Public School.
