Book of Remembrance entry

M.B., Ch.M.; D.P.H. (Camb.) : Captain, R.A.M.C., B.E.F., France and Salonika. Enlisting at Woolwich, England, 10th August, 1914, and crossing to France with No. 1 1 General Hospital on 14th, served with Combined Field Ambulances during Mons Retreat and later with 4th Casualty Clearing Station, being invalided to England in December. Joining 28th Division in January, 1915, at Winchester, was three years in France and Salonika until again invalided to England. Returning to France, was for three months O.C. No. 36 Ambulance Train and then with 29th Division until August, 1918, returning to Australia on demobilisation. Mentioned in Despatches four times. A.M.F. : Major, O.C. 2nd Field Hygiene Section. Early education at Newington College.
