Book of Remembrance entry
B.A.,M.A. Listed in the back of the Book of Remembrance in the Censorship section - served in the chief position of the Postal branch of Censorship from August 1914 until appointed Head of Press, Cable and Postal Censorship Services, Second Military District from April 1916 - January 1919. The length and distinction of his service brought him mention in the Gazette for Specially Meritorious Services, and at the end of the War he was awarded the Commandership of the Order of the British Empire.
