Book of Remembrance entry
B.E.; B.Sc. (Tas.), A.M.I.E.Aust. : Sapper, 2nd Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., England. Served with 36th Fortress Coy., manning searchlights, until permitted to enlist in A.I.F. in 1917. Joining Engineers Officers Training School 30th June and sailing 21st March, 1918, was invalided to hospital on arrival in England (24th April). On recovery served at Details Camp, Education School, Tidworth, and on non-military employment until demobilisation. Early education at Hutchins School. Later at Queen's College, Hobart.
