Book of Remembrance entry

B.E. : Lieutenant, 13th Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., France; also A.N. and M.E.F., New Guinea. Enlisting 17th August, 1914, and sailing on 19th, served in New Guinea as lance-sergeant, returning 4th March, 1915. Re-enlisting 15th October and sailing 20th January, 1916, as lieutenant 3rd Reinforcements, 7th Field Coy., Engineers, joined 13th Coy. 18th March. Contracting sickness, was invalided to Australia, arriving 14th May. Died of Illness due to War Service, Buxton, 24th April, 1919. Early education at Newington College and Sydney Grammar School.
