Econ. : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 16th July, 1915, and sailing in March, 1916, served as stretcher bearer with 4th Australian Field Ambulance at Fleurbaix, Pozieres, Ypres, Somme, Bullecourt and Messines till death. Died of Wounds, Menin Road, 1st October, 1917, and was buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperinghe. Early education at Commercial High School, Petersham.
