Diploma in Economics and Commerce: Lieutenant, 1st Battery, A.F.A., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in June, 1917, and sailing with Artillery reinforcements as second-lieutenant on 21st, joined battery in France in December and served at Messines, Ypres, Hazebrouck, Villers-Bretonneux, Harbonnieres, Rosieres, Proyart, Jeancourt, Joncourt and until demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 1st January, 1918. Chamber of Commerce Prizeman. Early education at Waverley and Petersham Superior Public and Cleveland St. Intermediate High Schools.
