Enlisting 21st August, 1915, and sailing 7th January, 1916, served with battn. until wounded at Pozieres 23rd July, declared unfit and then attached to A.A.V.C. until demobilisation. Promoted extra regimental sergeant, n th August, 1917. Recommended for M.S.M.
