Book of Remembrance entry
B.A. : Senior Chaplain, 9th Infantry Brigade, A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting in January, 1916, and sailing in April with 34th Battn., reached France in November and served at Armentieres, Messines Ridge and subsequent battles in June, 1917, moving with Division to Ypres sector in September. In October detailed for duty in England, being till December in London Hospitals and early in 1918 Senior Chaplain in Hurdcott Area among convalescents, returning via America for demobilisation. Early education at Sydney High School. Later at St. Andrew's College with post-graduate course in Theology.
