Book of Remembrance entry

Diploma in Economics and Commerce : Company Quartermaster Sergeant, 5th Divisional Train, A.A.S.C., A.I.F., Egypt, France and England. Enlisting in September, 1915, and sailing 18th November with 20th Coy., transferred to 10th as corporal and Transport section in 1916 as sergeant, and was very slightly wounded at Querien (Somme). Promoted company quartermaster sergeant in 1917, and acting company sergeant-major after the Armistice, serving three months at War Diaries Section H.Q., London, and coaching in Accountancy under A.I.F. Education Scheme on troopship. Early education at Murrumbateman Public and Cleveland St. Intermediate High Schools.
