Book of Remembrance entry
B.D.S. : Private, noth Howitzer Battery, A.F.A., and 1st Cyclist Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 11th January, 1916, and sailing 16th May, served with battery until wounded at Bullecourt (shell shock) 13th April, 1917. Upon recovery was transferred to Cyclists in June, being invalided to England 23rd December and to Australia, arriving 28th March, 1918. Early education at The Armidale School.
