C.M.G., B.D.S.; D.D.S. (Penn.), Lecturer in Dentistry: Lieutenant-Colonel, A.A.M.C. (Dental Services), A.I.F., Gallipoli, Egypt, England and France. Enlisting and sailing 14th July, 1915, as lieutenant, served with No. 3 Australian General Hospital at Lemnos for four months and then at Abbassia for eight months. Appointed Staff Officer, Dental Services, A.I.F. H.Q., London, 28th November, 1916, remaining there until September, 1919, and returning 23rd March, 1920. Promoted captain, 1st November, 1916, and major, 13th December; lieutenant-colonel, 6th April, 1917. Made a C.M.G. in 1918 and Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Newington College.
