Book of Remembrance entry
B.A. : Lieutenant, 8th Battn., King's Own Royal Lancaster Regt., Gallipoli and Mesopotamia. Enlisting in England by written application 12th August, 1914, was recommended for commission 26th September and served with regiment continuously, at Lemnos till 16th January, 1916, and then in Mesopotamia, travelling up Persian Gulf in February, for the relief of General Townsend at Kut-el-Amara. Killed in action, E l Hanna, Tigris Line, 5th April, 1916. Commemorated in Basra Memorial. Early education at The King's School.
