Book of Remembrance entry
Arts and L aw : Lieutenant, R.F.A. and R.F.C., B.E.F., France. Enlisting in England, was commissioned in Artillery 28th July, 1915, and, crossing to France in September, attached to No. 8 Squadron R.F.C. 3rd January, 1916, as probationary observer. Qualifying 10th March, was graded observer 30th May, accidentally injured 18th July and evacuated to England. Transferring to R.F.C. as temporary lieutenant, 1st September, was at H.Q. Administrative Wing from 19th January, 1917, and, crossing to France, Record Officer No. 46 Squadron from 24th June. Recrossing to England 9th July, rejoined R.F.A. 30th August and served until demobilisation, later returning to Australia. Promoted lieutenant, 1st July, 1917. Early education at Barker College. Later at St. Paul's.
