B.E., Assoc.M.Inst.C.E., A.M.I.E.Aust. : Sergeant, 1st Field Squadron, Engineers, A.I.F., Egypt and Palestine. Enlisting in 1st A.L.H. Regt. in July, 1915, served in Upper Egypt with Brigade Signal Troop during Senussi Rising and throughout campaigns with Engineers, Anzac Mounted Division till demobilisation. Promoted sergeant. Early education at Barker College and Sydney Church of England Grammar School.
