Sci. I : Corporal, 2nd Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., France. Enlisting 16th June, 1917, and sailing 18th November, arrived in England via Egypt and Italy and joined coy. at Corbie 14th August, 1918. Served in advance from St. Martin's Wood and Proyart to Hindenburg Line at Hargicourt, Grande Fayt and, after the Armistice, at Charleroi, being Instructor (extra regimental corporal), A.I.F. Education Scheme till 28th February, 1919, then returning via the Cape. Early education at Wagga Wagga High School.
