Mr Lewis was very successful in his farming activities. In 1928, he bought "Balgarup" in Kojonup, WA, and proceeded to transfer all the livestock in "Bundaleer", south Australia to "Balgarup", Kojonup, WA. In 1943, Balgarup had 3600 sheep and 74 cattle.
