Enlisting 22nd February, 1918, and sailing 17th July, joined battery just before the Armistice and obtained Matriculation Certificate at Australian Corps Central School, Rue, while awaiting demobilisation. Early education at Marist Brothers' High School, Darlinghurst, and Christian Brothers' College, Waverley.
