Law : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 22nd November, 1915, and sailing 1st May, 1916, served as stretcher bearer with 9th Australian Field Ambulance at Messines, Passchendsele, Villers-Bretonneux, the August Advance of 1918 and elsewhere until demobilisation. Early education at Cleveland St. Intermediate High School.
