Left for England in 1915; on arrival in Egypt in May broke journey to take up hospital organisation for Gallipoli wounded, with rank of Hon. Capt. A.A.M.C.; detailed to Conval. Hosp. at Helou::in; invalided to England July 1915; Australian Registrar 3rd London G.H., Wandsworth; Q.M. Capt. Aust. Conval. Depot Abbey Wood, near Woolwich; again health broke down, and he had to give up work. Returned to Australia March 1916.
