G H Kendrew attended Prince Alfred College for his early schooling, then the University of Adelaide where he graduated with MB BS in 1917. He took up a position as Medical Officer at the Crystal Brook Hospital about 1925 and continued to devote himself to this work until he and his wife and family of 2 daughters left to live in Adelaide, around 1946. He later had a position as Lecturer in Medical Electricity at Adelaide University, teaching students taking the Diploma in Physiotherapy, 1947-1951.
