Book of Remembrance entry
Instructor, School of Engineering Workshop: Sergeant, R.A.S.C. (Mechanical Transport), B.E.F., France. After serving for six months as Chief Engineer S.S. Palmella in North Sea and English Channel, enlisted in R.A.S.C. 3rd March, 1915. Crossing to France on 4th, served on 21st Div. H.Q. staff at Loos, Armentieres and elsewhere till 16th March, 1916, when invalided to England and discharged medically unfit, 2nd September, coming to Australia as assistant engineer on a troopship about December.
