After completing his medical degree in Adelaide in 1907, L W Jeffries travelled first to the United States, then to London, England, Germany and even Kashmir, where he worked in a mission hospital, gaining valuable and surgical experience and skills as a result of all these experiences.He was also Chairman of the Board of the Adelaide Hospital, a member of the Medical Board of South Australia and of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Adelaide.
