B.E. : Lieutenant, 78th Field Coy., R.E., B.E.F., France. Sailing 23rd November, 1915, was one of the first three Engineering graduates granted an R.E. commission, being appointed secondlieutenant in England 15th January, 1916. Promoted lieutenant On the Field and recommended for captaincy just prior to death. Mentioned in Despatches twice. Died of Wounds, Gueudecourt, 21st September, 1918, and was buried in Five Points Cemetery, Ytres-Etricourt. Early education at Sydney Church of England Grammar School. . . . He would most certainly have been awarded M.C. had he lived . . .
