Arts I : Lieutenant, 55th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 14th September, 1915, and sailing with 7th Reinforcements 17th battn. 23rd December, joined 55th in Egypt 16th February, 1916. Crossing to France in June, served at Fleurbaix, Somme, Bullecourt, Ypres, Messines, Villers-Bretonneux and Peronne till death. Promoted lieutenant, 2nd July, 1918. Killed in Action, Mont St. Quentin, 1st September, 1918, and buried in Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension. Early education at Kirkton and West Maitland Public and East Maitland High Schools.
