Enlisting 1st March, 1916, and sailing 18th May, served as R.M.O. 41st Battn. to 23rd July, 1917, and as Registrar, No. 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, till the end of the War, returning for demobilisation. Promoted major, 4th March, 1918. Early education at St. Peter''s Court, Broadstairs, England, The Armidale School and Barker College. Later at St. Paul's.
