Book of Remembrance entry
B.D.S. : Corporal, 55th Battn., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting in July, 1915, and sailing 8th March, 1916, fought until wounded at Fromelles 19th July, then, after convalescence, as Instructor in England till September, 1917. Returning to battn., served until demobilisation, taking part in Passchendaele, Villers-Brettoneux, Peronne and Bellicourt. Early education at Sydney High School.
