Book of Remembrance entry
Arts II : Captain, 13th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France; also A.N. and M.E.F., New Guinea. Enlisting 10th August, 1914, and sailing on first troopship, "Berrima ", served in New Guinea, returning 17th February, 1915. Re-Enlisting 30th March, was commissioned 5th June and, sailing as O.C. 7th Reinforcements 13th Battn. 20th August, was in Gallipoli till the Evacuation. Crossing to France 2nd June, 1916, served till death. Promoted captain, 1st March, 1916. Killed in Action, Pozieres, 15th July, 1916. Commemorated in Villers-Bretonneux Memorial. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at St. Andrew''s College.
