Arts I (e) : Sergeant, 54th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 9th October, 1915, and sailing 17th December as corporal 20th Battn. reinforcements, joined 54th Battn. in Egypt as sergeant and, crossing to France in June, 1916, was wounded at Fleurbaix 19th July. Died of Wounds, Birmingham Hospital, 3rd August, 1916, and was buried in Birmingham (Lodge Hill) Cemetery. Early education at Tallong Public and Goulburn District Schools. Later at Teachers'' College.
